I began undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Life had taken a different turn altogether and I slowly got myself to respond well to the entire ordeal of procedures and treatment.
An Unforgettable Day
My name is Afshan and I am 51 years old. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. The news was devastating. I was experiencing a flood of emotions, but my family stood by me as a pillar of strength. It took several sleepless nights to overcome the shock and pull myself together. I realized that I had to be strong. I didn’t want to make any room for cancer in my life, and thus began undergoing treatment for it. The fight had begun right then.
It was all fine until one day
I began undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Life had taken a different turn altogether and I slowly got myself to respond well to the entire ordeal of procedures and treatment. It was all fine until one day in 2013, when the cancer relapsed. Something about the hospital’s approach wasn’t right and it all seemed very cold and impersonal. I had a feeling that there was a lack of attention, which put be back on the path of fear.
In safe hands
Sensing that it would no longer benefit to continue treatment at that hospital, my son’s friend suggested that I take a second opinion and consult Dr. Santosh Gowda at Narayana Health City. My family and I valued his suggestion and today, I feel that it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Dr. Santosh Gowda at Narayana Health City evaluated my condition and explained the treatment in detail. The team of doctors at Narayana Health City were extremely supporting. I began to feel better day by day after several rounds of treatment and procedures. The avid attention and care that the support team provided helped me recover quickly.
Today, I feel healthy and restored. Unlike before, when I depended on my family for everything, I can now do everything on my own. Looking back on my cancer journey, I am extremely thankful to Dr. Santosh Gowda and his team of doctors, nurses and support staff for such tremendous treatment and patient support.
